“Camille”IreadtheChineseversionof“Camille”afewyearsago.AtthattimeIwasdeeplymovedbythemaincharacterMargueriteGautier.“Camille”or“TheLadyoftheCamellias”byAlexandreDumas,fils,isthestoryofMargueriteGautier,ayoungcourtesan,orkeptwoman,inParisinthemid1800\'s,andhowshefallsinlovewithayoungman,ArmandDuval,andthentriestoescapefromherquestionablepast.Unfortunately,itcomesbacktohauntherandsheendsupreturningtothatlifeanddiespainfullyandalone,butwiththeknowledgethatshewasanoblewomanatheart.WhenIfirstbegantoreadthebook,IdidnotcareforMargueriteorherattitudeorlifestyle,butasIgotfurtherintothenarrative,Irealizedthathersaucyattitudewasafronttocoverthelonelywomanthatshereallywas.Shefeltused,abusedandunloved,untilthegentleArmandDuvalcameintoherlifeandshowedherthathelovedherasapersonandnotforwhatshecoulddoforhim.ItmusthavetakenGREatcourageforMargueritetoleavethelifeshehadlivedforsolong,knowingallalongthatitwasprobablytoogoodtobetrueandwouldnotlastindefinitely.AnditalsoshowedthatMargueritereallylovedArmandDuvalforshecouldevenchangeherselfforhim.
